Death toll lifts in Nepal Himalayas

The thorough search of missing hikers and bodies buried under storm in Nepal Himalayas continued on Thursday as confirmed that at least 27 had died in the exceptional heavy snowfall.

Nepal rescuers have searched the high altitude paths of the popular Annapurna as well as the neighboring Manang district for the missing hikers.

The rescuers rescued nine Israeli tourists, three Canadians and four Indians on Thursday who were pulled to safety by the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal. More than 220 people have been rescued so far.
